Sony Ericsson has announced the release of three new Walkman phones for autumn 2008. The Quad-Band W902 model supports UMTS with HSDPA and comes with enough storage for up to 8,000 music tracks. It includes a built-in 5 megapixel camera and costs 499 euros (782 dollars) without a contract. The W59, which costs 279 euros, will also support UMTS with HSDPA, but will only come with 2 gigabytes of memory, a quarter of the W902's capacity. The W302 is the entry-level version Walkman phone and costs 169 euros. The quad-band mobile supports EDGE and GPRS for data transfer. ( dpa )

Asus notebook comes with Centrino-2 chip platform

Asus's new laptop offers includes the F8 VR-4P009C which runs on Intel's new Centrino 2 chip platform. The 14.1-inch notebook has WXGA resolution, a 2.26 Gigahertz Core-2-Duo processor and three gigabytes of working memory. A 256 megabyte ATI Radeon HD3470 video card powers the graphics. The notebook will come with a 250 gigabyte hard drive. Packaged with Windows Vista Home Premium, it includes a fingerprint sensor and built-in webcam and will cost 999 euros (1,566 dollars).

BenQ releases a 24-inch full-HD resolution display

BenQ has expanded its LCD display offers by a 24-inch model. The G2400WD has a reaction time of 2 milliseconds, according to BenQ and has a contrast value of 4000:1. The full HD display with HDMI connections will cost 379 euros (594 dollars).
