European Union Commissioner for enlargement Olli Rehn said on Thursday that they were ready to accept any kind of proposal in Cyprus on which both communities agree, on condition that united Cyprus respect freedom, democracy and rule of law and abide by membership obligations, reported Worldbulletin.

Speaking at a conference in Prague, Rehn said the talks should be finalized within the scope of "a bi-zonal and bi-communal federation" as was stated in related decisions of the UN Security Council.

Rehn said Turkey once again showed its importance with its "constructive role" assumed in recent Caucasus crisis, as well as its diplomatic initiatives in Armenia, Syria and the Middle East.
