Ukrainian President Leaves for United States

Ukraine, Kiev, 22 September / Trend corr. Z.Novosvitskiy / Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko left for the United States to pay a work visit.

Yushchenko will participate at the plenary meeting of the 63rd United Nations General Assembly in New York on 24 September and publicize Kiev's position on topical problems of modernity. The President will sign the UN Convention on rights of disabled people, as well.

Moreover, Yushchenko will make a speech before members of the US National Geographic Institution and the Council on foreign relations, as well as hold meetings with representatives of the US business circles, the European organizations of the United States and countrymen.

Vladimir Ogrizko, the Foreign Minister, and Andrey Goncharuk, the deputy of the head of the President's Secretariat, are accompanying Yushchenko during the visit.
