Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said the resistance and confrontation in Gaza will have an impact on the regional situation, as-Safir daily reported Monday.
"The resistance in Gaza will draw a new formula in the region," Berri said, without elaborating how the region would be shaped by the resistance referring to Gaza militant groups led by Hamas.
He pointed out that the "strength of the resistance is due to the weakness of the enemy, because Arab people are ready to resist and die for their cause, while this concept does not exist in Israel."
"The enemy (Israel) does not reveal the number of its casualties, in order to avoid confusion in its internal front," Berri added.
The Lebanese speaker, as well as Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, has been calling for an Arab urgent summit to come up with a united stand that would put an end to the Gaza conflict.
During the ongoing Israeli military offensive, Israel killed over 900 Palestinians and wounded more than 3,600 people, according to medical officials, reported Xinhua.
