A CH-47 helicopter of the U.S.-led Coalition forces conducted a hard landing Saturday afternoon resulting in casualties, said a statement issued by the alliance, Xinhua reported.

"Coalition CH-47 helicopter, supporting an ISAF(International Security Assistance Force) mission conducted a hard landing this afternoon in eastern Afghanistan resulting in casualties," the statement said.

However, it did not specify the number of casualties adding " the helicopter was conducting a routine resupply mission." It added that "the incident is currently ongoing and is being investigated." Snowfall and cloudy weather has been continuing in parts of Afghanistan over the past week.

It was the third air incident in the past three day in Afghanistan as an M-17 helicopter of Afghan National Army Thursday crashed in western region, killing 13 people, including a high ranking military official. Moreover, a Black Hawk chopper of Coalition troops went down near Afghan capital Kabul Friday but all crew and passengers aboard were reportedly safe and secure.
