Representatives of the Lebanese army and coalition forces in the country said UN troops found 5 Katyusha rockets in Lebanon's southern regions bordering Israel.
The missiles were found in the Wadi Hamuro Valley on the western border with Israel, the Al Jazeera Web site quoted the Lebanese army's press secretary as saying.
Representative of the Lebanese army said the missiles were not ready to launch, but their ages are unknown.
Sources in the Lebanese security forces said it is assumed the missiles were sent to the Israeli border to be fired on the anniversary of the death of former Hezbollah leader Imad Mugnie, who was killed in a suicide bombing in Damascus on Feb. 12.
On Jan. 8, several missiles were fired at the Israeli border from Lebanon in response to Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip, which lasted 22 days. As a result, two Israelis were injured. No Lebanese factions took responsibility for the shelling.
