Obama to support UN investigation on Hariri’s murder
The U.S. will participate in the UN military tribunal investigating Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri's murder, U.S. President Barack Obama was quoted by the Ash-Shark al-Ausat newspaper as saying.
"The U.S. shared Lebanon's grief over his murder. We will do our best to help the investigation," he said.
Events will be held to commemorate Hariri in Lebanon on Feb. 14.
The UN military tribunal will launch the investigation on March 1.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton confirmed that the country will participate in the investigation in a telephone conversation with Al Mustaqbal Movement Leader and Hariri's son Saad, Ash-Shark al-Ausat reported.
Hariri was killed in a car bomb in 2005.
