Ex-Afghan Attorney General sings up for presidential elections

Former Attorney General of Afghanistan Abdul Jabbar Sabit on Tuesday registered his name with the country' s Independent Election Commission (IEC) to contest the upcoming polls set for August 20, Xinhua reported.
  
Sabit, dismissed by President Hamid Karzai last year after he announced to compete in the presidential election, is the fourth presidential aspirants have registered for the race since inception of nomination process on April 25.
  
On Monday the incumbent president Karzai registered to seek to re-elect.
  
Earlier, Shah Nawaz Tanai, a former Defense Minister and Akbar Bai, an ethnic leader of Uzbek, have registered their names for the race to assume the country's top slot.
  
The candidates register process would be closed down on May 8.
