Brazil will confirm at least one case of the new H1N1 flu virus later on Thursday, a Health Ministry source told Reuters.
Health Minister Jose Temporao is due to hold a news conference later in the day to announce the confirmation, the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity, Reuters reported.
It would be the second country in South America to confirm a case of the new flu virus, after Colombia.
The health ministry has said there are 24 suspected cases of the new flu virus around the country.
