The first three cases of infection of A/H1N1 virus have been confirmed by the Lebanese Health Ministry on Saturday, France Press reported.
"A Lebanese, who arrived from Spain, and two citizens of Canada have been infected with the flu. We put them in quarantine and blood tests showed the presence of the virus (A/H1N1) ", Mohammad Jawad Khalif, Health Minister, said at a press conference.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 15,510 human cases of influenza A/H1N1 in 53 countries, 99 infected died.
On April 29, WHO raised the threat of pandemic influenza A/H1N1 from four to five on a six scale . Head of the organization Margaret Chen said that if a great risk occurred the organization would increase the threat of pandemic influenza A/H1N1 to maximum.
