Armed men attack UNFAO office in N. Afghanistan

A group of gunmen attacked the office of United Nations' Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) in Kunduz province in north Afghanistan in early Saturday morning, provincial governor Mohammad Omar said, Xinhua reported.
  
"Unknown armed men attacked the office of FAO in Kunduz city, the capital of Kunduz province, very early in the morning and the militants made their good escape after injuring two local guards," Omar told Xinhua.
  
Investigation is underway to find the culprits, he added.
  
FAO has been assisting local farmers over the past few years in the relatively peaceful Kunduz province.
  
Taliban fighters have influenced Kunduz and carried out series of attacks against government interests since early this year.
