Russia has launched mass production of two A/H1N1 flu vaccines, a deputy health minister said on Tuesday.

The production started on Monday and two other A/H1N1 flu vaccines are to be produced later this month, Veronika Skvortsova told a news conference.

At least 35.5 million single doses of vaccine are expected to be produced by the end of the year, Skvortsova was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies RIA Novosti and Interfax.

"No side effects have been reported and all test participants feel fine," she said, adding the vaccines will be tested on children and teenagers late October, Xinhua reported.

Earlier in the day, Russia's top sanitary official Gennady Onishchenko said a total of 591 A/H1N1 flu cases had been confirmed in the country.
