At least 16 people were killed and many others injured in an attack on two passenger vehicles by militants on Saturday morning in Lower Kurram tribal area of northwest Pakistan, reported local media.
According to the report, the attack took place early Saturday morning when some unknown gunmen opened fire at two passenger vehicles heading to Kurram from Peshawar. The militants fled the scene after firing at the vehicles, leaving two vehicles destroyed, Xinhua reported.
Recure team has arrived at the site and the injured people are being shifted to hospital.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
