A huge blast rocked Taliban birthplace Kandahar in south Afghanistan on Saturday wounding six people, spokesman for Kandahar governor Zalmai Ayubi said.
"The blast occurred next to the police department of Kandahar city the capital of Kandahar province 12:45 local time injuring six people including five policemen and one civilian," Ayubi told Xinhua.
He also added that it was a remote-controlled bomb targeted police department.
The terrorist, he added parked an explosive-laden car in the parking lot of the police department and detonated it by remote- control.
Ayubi also blamed the enemies of peace, a term used against Taliban militants for the attack, but the outfit has yet to make comment.
Meantime, five police vehicles were also damaged in the explosion, Interior Ministry said in a press release.
Kandahar the birthplace of Taliban has been experiencing increasing militancy over the past couple of years despite continued military operations since mid this year.
