A TV channel run by Ivory Coast's Alassane Ouattara was Thursday screening a film chronicling Adolf Hitler's last days, as his rival hid in a bunker and refused to surrender, DPA reported.
Downfall, a 2004 film focusing on Hitler's increasing desperation in his Berlin bunker, was showing on TCI with French subtitles, a German Press Agency dpa correspondent in Abidjan said.
Ouattara's forces have tightened the noose on Gbagbo, but have been unable to winkle the president, who is being protected by his soldiers, out of his fortified residence in Abidjan.
UN-led talks have failed to convince Gbagbo to give up and acknowledge that Ouattara, seen as the rightful winner of disputed presidential elections in November, should be running the country.
