Suicide bomber killed in Afghan blast
A suicide bomber was the sole fatality when his vehicle blew up in south-eastern Afghanistan, officials said Monday, DPA reported.
The suicide bomber's explosives-packed tractor detonated Sunday before he reached his intended target in Tor Tangi, an area of Barmal district in Paktika province, the Interior Ministry said.
As a result, the suicide bomber was killed, the statement said. There were no casualties among civilians or security forces.
A roadside bomb struck a vehicle injuring five civilians including a tribal leader Monday morning, the office of the governor of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan said.
"According to initial information, Malik Faizullah, the tribal leader, and four others were wounded in the blast," the statement said.
