Astronaut Neil Armstrong, 82, the first man to set foot on the moon, has died, US television networks reported Saturday.

Astronaut Neil Armstrong, 82, the first man to set foot on the moon, has died, US television networks reported Saturday.

He reportedly died of complications from heart surgery, DPA reported.

Armstrong step down from the ladder of an Apollo moon lander and onto the lunar surface on July 20, 1969, with the words: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
