Kerry says Russia should stop armed support to separatists in Donbass
Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 5
The US Secretary of State John Kerry said Feb. 5 that Russia should immediately cease armed support to illegal armed groups in Donbass, Ukraine, news agency Interfax-Ukraine reported.
Kerry, during a joint statement with Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Feb. 5, urged Russia to come to the negotiating table to achieve a long-term political solution.
He said the US wants the conflict to be resolved; adding that for this to take place, it is necessary to take certain steps.
Kerri noted that Russia must make a commitment to take certain steps, and the separatists should also take certain steps.
He added that first of all it is needed to make a commitment in order to actually create a ceasefire.
