Azercell’s ex-head candidate for Moldovan PM’s position
Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 14
Moldova's Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) proposed the businessman, Chiril Gaburici as a second candidate for the prime minister's position, the Moldovan media reported Feb. 14.
This decision was made at a meeting of the party's bureau on Feb. 13.
Gaburici previously served as the director general of the Azerbaijani mobile operator, Azercell Telecom.
PLDM's parliamentary faction head, Valery Strelets, said that on Feb. 14 Gaburici's candidacy will be presented to the President Nicolae Timofti.
The head of the parliamentary faction of the communists, Violeta Ivanova, after consulting with the Moldovan president, said the PM should have a prepared team, subordinate to the PM, rather than political leaders.
"The criteria are very simple - this person should be responsible, competent and experienced. And in the current economic conditions this may be a representative of the business," said Ivanova.
