US Hinders Establishment of Talks Between Hamas and Fatah: Hamas Political Chief

Khaled Meshaal, the chairman of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said in an interview with Al-Jazeera that the United States hinders the establishment of talks between the National Liberation Organization of Palestine (Fatah) and Hamas. He was commenting on the latest political development and resistance in Palestine.

Mashal noted that the United State establishes relations among Arabic leaders to deteriorate possible talks between the two movements.

"By rendering support to the Palestinian authorities the United States instigates them against Hamas to try to split the Palestinians into two hostile fronts," Mashal stressed.

According to the chairman of the Political Bureau of Hamas, US President Bush wants to at any rate to change the lands of Palestine into a field of armed action and in this way oust the countries of the region - Iran, Syria and Libya - under a blow.

Mashal noted that Hamas supports talks and offers various options on the establishment of a centralized state power and rehabilitation of security in Palestine without US interference.
