Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu spoke with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Greek Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos separately over the phone on Sunday after his Saturday trip to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu spoke with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Greek Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos separately over the phone on Sunday after his Saturday trip to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Anadolu Agency reported.

The officials primarily discussed recent developments regarding the anticipated resumption of negotiations between the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot sides on the island, according to information received from diplomatic sources.

Upon the invitation of Greek counterpart Venizelos, Davutoglu had on Friday visited Athens, where he also met with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

He then visited TRNC's capital Lefkosa on Saturday and met high-ranking officials, such as TRNC President Dervis Eroglu and Prime Minister Ozkan Yorgancioglu, as well as the UN Secretary General's special Cyprus envoy Alexander Downer.
