A ship with Syrian illegal immigrants on board sank off the coast of Turkey in the Mediterranean Sea, Anadolu agency reported June 23.
The Turkish Coast Guard managed to save 65 people from a sinking ship, however two people have died as a result of the incident.
The illegal immigrants on board reportedly tried to enter the territory of Greece.
More than 160 illegal immigrants, trying to enter the territory of Greece, were detained in Turkey for the last month.
Previously, 330 illegal immigrants who were trying to go to Italy were detained in Turkey's Mersin province in the country's south-west.
Moreover, four Turkish citizens involved in dispatching the illegal immigrants to Italy, were detained.
