An espionage group has been revealed in Turkey’s Sanliurfa Province on the border with Syria, which transmitted information to terrorists in Syria’s Afrin, the Turkish media reported Feb. 7.

Reportedly, 14 people were detained as part of the operation against the espionage group.

The detainees maintained contacts with terrorists in Afrin and periodically informed them of the location and movement of the Turkish Armed Forces in Sanliurfa. The identity of the detainees has not been reported.

On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.

F-16 fighters of the Turkish Air Force are involved in the operation, inflicting strikes on the positions of PYD/YPG on the Syrian-Turkish border.
