As many as 261 illegal migrants have been detained in Turkey’s Van province, Trend reports with reference to Turkish media.
The news report said that 208 of the detainees were citizens of Afghanistan, and the rest were citizens of Pakistan. All of them will be deported from Turkey.
During the three months of 2019, 9,600 illegal migrants were detained in Turkey. Some 5,780 of them were detained by the Coast Guard Command of Turkey.
During this period, 82 people who participated in sending illegal migrants from Turkey to Greece were also detained.
