Turkish Armed Forces eliminate over 10 terrorists in northern Iraq

As a result of a joint operation conducted by the Turkish National Intelligence Organization and the country’s Armed Forces, 17 terrorists of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) have been eliminated, Trend reports with reference to the message of the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
The terrorists were eliminated during an operation in Avashin district in northern Iraq.
The number of terrorists eliminated during air operations has reached 17.
The Turkish Air Force and the Armed Forces launched a large-scale operation dubbed 'Pence' in the Hakurk region in northern Iraq on May 27.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has been lasting around 40 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
