In September 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 40 million tons, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The ministry noted that in September 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia by ships flying the Russian flag amounted to 4.3 million tons, while ships flying flags of other countries carried 33.3 million tons of cargo.
Moreover, cargo transshipment from Russia by ships sailing under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.
During this period, 1.6 million tons of cargo were shipped from Russia in transit through ports of Turkey.
In September 2019, 260.1 million tons of cargo were transshipped in Turkish ports as a whole.
Over the mentioned period, vessels flying the Turkish flag transshipped 21.0 million tons of cargo, while vessels flying the flag of their country – 12.1 million tons, and the vessels flying the flag of other countries – 226.9 million tons of cargo.
