Data on China's cargo shipment through Turkish ports disclosed

Transshipment of goods from China via the ports of Turkey in the first 4 months of 2020 exceeded 1.86 million tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on June 4.

From January through April of this year, no cargo was handled from China by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 1.84 million tons were handled by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Meanwhile, 20,108 tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Chinese flag.

“Over the reporting period, 1.87 million tons of cargo from China were transited through Turkish ports,” the ministry said.

From January through April 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to more than 123.4 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag surpassed 9.6 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 4.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 108.8 million tons from January through April 2020.

Over the reporting period, over 24.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to more than 28.8 million tons in April 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 2.2 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 25.6 million tons.

According to the ministry, 6.5 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
