The number of job seekers from Turkey in Turkmenistan plunged from January through March 2021, the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) told Trend.
“In the reporting period, the number of Turkish citizens who visited Turkmenistan through İŞKUR to find work plummeted by 160.9 percent compared to the same period of 2020. In total, 2,678 Turkish citizens visited the country via İŞKUR over the reporting period, while a year earlier this figure was by 34.3 percent more,” the agency said.
In March 2021, 91,267 Turkish citizens were provided with jobs via İŞKUR.
Of the total number of employed persons, 31.7 percent accounted for women, 68.3 percent – for men. At the same time, 98.9 percent of applicants got a job in the private sector.
In March 2021, the number of unemployed persons in Turkey was 2.66 million, of which 47.4 percent were women, 52.6 percent - men.
