The cargo turnover of Turkish Antalya Airport from January through August 2021 has increased, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend on Sept.14.
According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 142,811 tons which is growth of 155 percent on annual basis.
In the first eight months of this year, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 30,245 tons (increase of 66 percent on annual basis), and on international – 112,566 tons (rise of 198 percent), the ministry said.
At the same time, the passenger traffic at the airport amounted to over 12.4 million people, which is a growth of 158 percent on annual basis. The passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 2.9 million people (growth by 44 percent), and on international – 9.5 million people (increase by 240 percent), the ministry’s report said.
According to the report, the number of flights performed in the first eight months of this year was 81,951, which is 111 percent more compared to the same period of 2020. At the same time, the number of flights operated on domestic routes was 25,799 (increase of 38 percent), and on international lines – 56,152 (growth of 180 percent).
The passenger traffic at all airports of Turkey in the reporting period exceeded 75.5 million people, and the turnover of goods – 2.09 million tons.
