Turkish Ministry shares data on transshipment of goods by local ports in April 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. Turkish ports handled 32.06 million tons of cargo in April 2022, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey through local ports amounted to 2.09 million tons during the specified period.

"Cargo transportation through Turkish ports by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 29.9 million tons," ministry said.

Turkish ports handled 7.2 million tons of transit cargo in April 2022.

Ministry noted that Turkish ports handled 130.8 million tons of cargo.

"Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 6.05 million tons during the indicated period. Cargo transportation through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 121.8 million tons," ministry added.

According to ministry, Turkish ports handled 27.7 million tons of transit cargo from January through April 2022.

Ports of Turkey handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.

Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 29.9 million tons during the specified period.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 356.3 million tons in 2021.

Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo last year.
