The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) doesn't act as an investor in a resort construction project in Montenegro, head of the company Rovnag Abdullayev told reporters.
"As I repeatedly said earlier, SOCAR didn't invest a single Azerbaijani manat into this project," Abdullayev said. "The company acts only as an intermediary between Montenegro and Azerbaijani company Azmont. A number of large companies participated in the tender for the resort's construction and Azerbaijani companies won the tender thanks to the SOCAR brand which acts as an intermediary."
"After some time we will completely leave this process, and the Azmont company will continue the work on its own," he said.
Previously, IntelliNews reported that SOCAR invested over 200 million euros in the construction of a resort on the Adriatic coast in Montenegro.
