Election in Azerbaijan transparent, democratic – int’l observer

No cases that can cause concern have been recorded in Azerbaijan's parliamentary election, observer from Bosnia and Herzegovina, MP Nermina Kapetanovic told reporters in Baku Nov.1.

The observer said no complaints were heard from the voters in six polling stations which she visited.

All this shows that the election is going on democratically and transparency has been ensured in this process, she added.

Kapetanovic said that she visited Baku as an international observer for the presidential election two years ago.

"The presidential election of 2013 was organized perfectly and held at high level," she said. "Like the presidential election, the current parliamentary election is being held in accordance with the set rules."

The parliamentary election is being held in Azerbaijan Nov. 1. Some 503 international observers from 40 organizations and over 66,000 local observers monitor the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan. As many as 767 candidates claim for 125 seats in the Azerbaijani parliament.
