BP transfers 1.2 bcm of associated gas to SOCAR

In 1 HY of 2014 the British BP, the operator of the development of the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" (ACG) field block in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, transferred 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas to SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan), which is almost similar to the rate of 1 HY of 2013, stated the report on the results of BP in Azerbaijan in January-June 2014.

Within the framework of the ACG development the associated gas is transferred to SOCAR gratuitously.

The average daily volume of associated gas transmitted to SOCAR amounted to 6.6 million cubic meters in the first half of the year, the report says.

In 2013 BP transmitted 2.19 billion cubic meters of gas to the State Oil Company versus 3.4 billion cubic meters in 2012.

Contract on ACG block development was signed in 1994. Proved oil reserves in these fields are estimated at about one billion tonnes.

Participation in the contract is distributed as follows: BP (operator in the "Azeri-Chirag-") - 35.78 percent, SOCAR - 11,6 percent, "Chevron" - 11,27 percent, "Inpex" - 10,96 percent , AzACG - 11,65 percent, "Statoil" - 8,56 percent, "Exxon" - eight percent, TPAO - 6.75 percent, "Itocu" - 4,3 per cent and ONGC - 2,72 percent.
