The Austrian-Azerbaijani Business Forum was held in the Austrian capital Vienna on May 13, 2013. Participating in the business forum were over 200 executives and representatives of business groups from Azerbaijan and Austria. President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who is on an official visit to Austria, and his Austrian counterpart Mr. Heinz Fischer attended the event and addressed the forum participants. Both of the Presidents emphasized the significance and prospect of strengthening cooperation between business groups of Austria and Azerbaijan, Akkord said today.
Within the framework of the forum Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC (Akkord Corporation) and Austrian Unger Stahlbau GmBH (Unger company) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for construction of a modern steel production plant in Azerbaijan as well as for joint participation in different construction projects concerning usage of steel structures. Mr. Khagani Guluzade, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Joseph Unger, Executive Director, signed the memorandum on behalf of Akkord Corporation and Unger Company respectively.
