Special envoy of the foreign ministry Ilhomjon Nematov was dismissed in connection with the retirement upon Uzbek president Islam Karimov's decree, the Uzbek foreign ministry said on July 23.

Nematov was appointed special envoy in August last year in accordance with the presidential decree.

Earlier, Nematov worked as Uzbek Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the U.S.

Nematov headed the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Russia in 2010-2013.
