Germania Airline company is going to conduct two weekly flights from Berlin to Tehran and two from Dusseldorf to Tehran as well as one flight per week from Hamburg to Mashhad, the company's Iran office director, Ali Akbar Kokabzadeh said.

The German company which was launched in 1977 has 24 Boeing and Airbus aircrafts and more than 900 employees. Right now Germania's aircrafts fly to over 140 places around the world.

The number of Iran-Germany flights has increased to 12 per week, according to the Iranian aviation officials.

After the imposition of international sanctions against Iran's aviation industry, seven major airlines limited or stopped their air traffic over Iranian airspace.

In recent months, however, some airlines have expressed a desire to resume using Iran's airspace, according to Iranian media outlets.

Some contracts have also been signed with countries including Portugal and Germany which can increase air routes and international airline traffic over Iran's skies.

Currently 33 international airlines are operating in Iran and have handled a total of three million passengers in the past Iranian fiscal year (ended on March 21).
