Tehran, Iran, March 8

The Iranian government has been purged of dual nationals and the establishment is looking forward to doing the same about major companies.
“No dual national administrator now exists in the government. Some lists have been received, however, which belong to companies and they are being investigated,” Minister of Justice Mostafa Pourmohammadi said, Mehr news agency reported March 7.
Two weeks earlier Attorney General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri had said a list of dual national managers had been sent to the Ministry of Intelligence.
A week after that, Administrative and Recruitment Affairs Organization chief Jamshid Ansari said the list included 13 dual national managers.
Dual nationals have turned into a sore point with the Rouhani administration in the past few months, conservative parties considering them as agents of foreign countries.
