Organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan, the presentation of the book "Heydar Aliyev" in the series "Life of Remarkable People", translated into the Uzbek language, was held Saturday at the Azerbaijani cultural center Heydar Aliyev in Tashkent.
The event was dedicated to the memory of national leader of Azerbaijani people. A large number of people of different nationalities, who came to express their respect for the memory of a great man, had gathered in the Azerbaijani cultural center.
The event's participants laid a wreath at the bust of national leader, installed in front of the cultural center and honored his memory with a minute of silence.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Uzbekistan, Namik Abbasov, mentioned Heydar Aliyev's important role in the formation of national statehood of Azerbaijan.
He emphasized the importance of the national leader's activities in implementing global long-term projects, ensuring sustainable political, economic and cultural development of modern Azerbaijan.
Other participants of the event also talked about Heydar Aliyev's invaluable merits to the Azerbaijani people, his quality of political and public figure who gained international recognition for his humanity and wisdom, through which every citizen of Azerbaijan honors his memory as a close and dear person.
The participants watched a documentary film about Heydar Aliyev's life and political activities.
