Ulan Bator hosted the third round of political consultations between the Uzbek and Mongolian foreign ministries, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides discussed specific areas of joint activity to combat terrorism, drug trafficking and other challenges at the regional and international levels; the situation in Afghanistan, issues on preservation of peace and stability in the region of Central Asia and Mongolia, as well as environmental issues and sustainable use of water resources.
The talks indicated that the countries have common positions on international and regional issues, which creates a solid basis for intensifying a partnership in other areas.
