Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 24 / Trend H. Valiyev /

"Electronic government" portal launch is postponed, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry told Trend on Friday.

"It was planned to be launched in March," a source said. "It is delayed because most of the e-services presented on the portal are basic. This is unlikely to be in demand among the population."

It will be announced about the final term of launching the portal after a list of services most popular among the population is created.

According to the information, popularization of using digital signature is the important issue. The digital signature will be the main tool while using the electronic services of the "e-government" portal.

About 1,000 electronic signatures have been issued since the center for issuing digital signature was commissioned (September 2011).

Today, about 15 Azerbaijani state institutions joined the "Electronic government" portal. Other agencies have already appealed to the ministry to join the portal.
The portal will be available at ehdis.az.

At present, about 57 kinds of electronic services are placed at the portal. It is expected that the total number of electronic services to be rendered by agencies of the republic will hit 300.

The portal "Electronic government" will be a key tool for supporting the work with citizens and enterprises of public and private sectors.

X-Road principle was used while creating "Electronic government". It aims to combine the existing data bases and systems of state institutions, created on different platforms.
