Radical Statements By Iranian President Reason Behind UN’s Third Resolution: Iranian Political Scientist

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. D.Khatinoglu / The world's negative opinion of Iran increased after the strong statements made by Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and official Tehran's policy of international issues.

'The radical statements of the Iranian President forced the UN's Security Council to use the third resolution against Iran, Isa Saharkhiz, the Iranian political scientist said.

The western countries persist in investigating the implementation of the Iranian nuclear program, said the Iranian President in his interview to the Jame-jam channel. The chairman of the nuclear organization of Iran spoke of Iran hope in developing atomic energy for peaceful purposes during a meeting of the IAEA's Council on 17 September.

Hassan Rouhani, the former chairman of the Iranian delegation for discussions on nuclear issues, intends to go to Berlin to hold discussions with Javier Solana, the EU's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the Foreign Minister of German, Frank-Walter Steinmeier. It is expected that sanctions against Iran will be strengthened.

Radical statements made by the Iranian President, including Ahmadinejad's dubbing the Holocaust tragedy as legend after which he called for the destruction of Israel, caused negative results for Iranian foreign policy, including the use of the UN's Security Council third resolution against Iran.

Compulsion of Iran to cooperate with the IAEA was unsuccessful due to the foreign policy of Ahmadinejad. The Iranian Government was against the visit of former members of the delegation on discussions of nuclear issues to Europe, including the visit planned of Rouhani to Germany to reduce the present tense situation around Iran.

Despite the information provided by Al-Bardai regarding the presence of 2,000 centrifuges in Iranian atomic stations, Ahmadinejad stated that there were 3,000 centrifuges.

Official Tehran closed all ways for salvaging the country's ignoring the first and second UN resolutions.

Racanews, the Iranian information agency reported that one of the high ranking officials of Iran demanded that the former chairman of the Iranian delegation on discussion of the nuclear program with IAEA postpone his visit to Germany or not to disclose his opinion contradicting Iranian state policy.
