Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend K.Ramazanova / Azerbaijan is taking a strategic role in the Caspian region for its energy opportunities, Umberto Ranieri, the chairman of the permanent commission of foreign affairs of the Italian Parliament stated.
The Italian parliamentary delegation arrived in Baku on 18 September. According to Ranieri, the visit is aimed at exchanging experiences with the aim of continuing cooperation. Italy is keen for Azerbaijan to meet the European standards, Ranieri said
Meetings were held by the MPs at the Parliament and the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
