Washington Conference Participants Urged to Continue Cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey & US – Head of Azerbaijani PACE Delegation
Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend / The international conference The Policy of Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United States in Eurasia which began in Washington is of great interest, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), who is also the chair of the permanent parliamentary commission on international relations and inter-parliamentary links, Samad Seyidov said to Trend in during telephone discussion from Washington.
Seyidov, who is representing Azerbaijan at the conference, noted that the speeches given by the participants of the conference covered basically all fields of cooperation regarding Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United States. The issues regarding geopolitics, economics, trade relations and others were discussed in detail. "The conference is highly appreciated and is of great importance," he said.
Speaking at the conference, the representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United States voiced interesting ideas about the countries' political prospects in Eurasia, reported Seyidov. The high-ranking officials of the US State Department, such as Daniel Fried and Matthew Bryza were amongst those who took the floor. The speeches by the former Turkish Foreign Minister Hikmet Chetin, the former Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United States Hafiz Pashayev also attracted the attention of the attendees of the conference. "The participants at the conference consider it important to continue cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United States," Seyidov said.
Meetings at Universities, as well as with different politicians and businessmen, will take place within the framework of the Washington conference. Renowned politicians, public figures, officials, representatives of the US and Turkish parliaments and governments are in attendance.
