Georgia, Tbilisi, 11 February/ corr. Trend N. Kirtskhalia/ The United Opposition of Georgia sees no point in continuing talks with the majority in Parliament, Giorgi Khaindrava, one of the opposition leaders said on 11 February in Parliament.
"The Government does nothing to fulfill its promises and therefore we do not see any point in these meetings," he said. Khaindrava said that there are 'puppets' in parliament and the illegitimate president Saakashvili has control over them.
"Those who hold talks with us do not have the right to adopt a decision. The usurper Saakashvili decides everything and therefore there is no point in holding talks with them," Khaindrava said.
He said that the opposition will continue talks only after three demands are fulfilled, that is the dismissal of Levan Tarknishvili, the chairman of the Central Election Commissions and Tamar Kinsurashvili, the general director of the Public Broadcaster and the release of 43 political prisoners.
As to the opposition's demonstrations, he said that they do not need the permission of the city administration to hold demonstrations in front of Parliament on 15 February. "We officially informed the city administration that we will hold a demonstration in front of the Parliament on 15 February at 2pm and now they should take measures to provide security for the demonstrators," Khaindrava stated.
The opposition appealed to the city administration office on 8 February on holding a demonstration and the city administration is expected to respond on 11 February.
"We do not need the permission of the city administration and on their part they should take the relevant measures in accordance with the law," Khaindrava said.
