Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 March / Trend corr/. G.Jabiyev / The ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party (YAP) is protesting against the report developed by the United States State Department connected with the function of YAP.
"The statements concerning the function of YAP in the report are not true," MP Mubariz Gurbanli, YAP Deputy Executive Secretary, stated to Trend on 14 March.
The report stated that the ruling party establishes its organizations in educational centres, as well as enterprises operating in Azerbaijan. Gurbanli said the party has local organizations in regions of the country. However, there are no YAP representations in any education centre or enterprises.
YAP was founded in Nakhchivan on 1992. The All-Nation Leader, late Ex-President Heydar Aliyev was the first Chairman of the Party. President Ilham Aliyev is the present Chairman of the Party, which has been ruling for 14 years.
