Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 March /corr. Trend J.Babayeva / Recently Azerbaijan's Embassy in Georgia officially presented a note to the Foreign Ministry of Georgia, regarding the opening of Azerbaijan's consulate in Marneuli city of Kvemo-Kartli region where Azerbaijanis are residing, the Press Secretary of the Embassy, Elkhan Polukhov, reported to Trend by telephone from Tbilisi on 31 March.
Nearly 500,000 Azerbaijanis reside in Georgia, mainly in the Kvemo-Kartli region.
Azerbaijan's Embassy in Georgia was opened in 1996.
