Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 April / Trend corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ Azerbaijani citizen, whom the international police was searching because of his participation in 1995March events, has been arrested. On 13 March 1995, Special Police Service attempted to commit a coup.
The event was followed by a skirmish between the authorities and Special Police Service. On 17 March, a revolt was prevented and Rovshan Javadov, commander of the Special Police Service and Deputy Interior Minister, was killed.
Most of the Special Police Service members were arrested after the incident, but several escaped and went abroad.
The Central Administration of Criminal Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry detained Mansur Guliyev from Kstovo town in the Nizhegorod province of Russia. He was globally searched due to contravening Articles 70-2 (creation of armed groups not envisaged by law), 220-2 (wearing, manufacturing and sale of cold steel without adequate permission) of the Criminal Code, which had effect till 2000.
Guliyev has been handed over to the Azerbaijani authorities.
