Ukraine, Kiev, Dec. 19 / Trend , Z.Novsvitski/On Dec. 19, the Supreme Rada commissioned the Temporary Investigation Commission (TIC) on study of deliveries of Ukrainian military equipment to Georgia, targeting to reveal facts of violation of the Ukrainian legislation and norms of international law, to give all documents to the Prosecutor General's Office relevantly to react on them.

The Parliament took reports of the TIC into consideration and sent it to the Ukrainian President and Premier. The Supreme Rada also instructed the Prosecutor General's Office legally to assess actions of Yuriy Yekhanurov, the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Valentin Nalivaychenko, acting chairman of Security Service, Raisa Bogatirova, secretary of the Council of National Security and Defense, as well as Sergey Bondarchuk, general director of Ukrspetseksport, directed to block and ignore activity of the TIC.

The TIC's report says that the Georgian Amry has been equipped with great amount of offensive arms (tanks, Pion artillery system, helicopters and others) through deliveries from Ukraine, which have been used during attack to South Ossetia. The most contemporary weapons, with which the Ukrainian Army is equipped, have been delivered to Georgia, as well. Moreover, the TIC insists that Buk-M1 antimissile division was delivered to Georgia at the Ukrainian President's decree, dated Oct. 3 2005.

According to Valeriy Konovalyuk, the chairman of the TIC, the investigations revealed that deliveries of military equipment and armament were realized at lower prices than the world prices, as well as three or five times cheaper than the price fixed in contracts. Thus, Buk-M1 antimissile complex was delivered to Georgia for $28mln, while Pakistan offered such a complex for $100mln.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry received only $37.7mln hryvna from its realization, Konovalyuk said. "We assess this step so: equipment of the Georgian Army with modern arms for military actions have been realized by means of public budget and defense capacity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said.
