BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 31. President of Suriname Chandrikapersad Santokhi sent a letter of condolences to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in connection with the tragic loss of life as a result of the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane near the city of Aktau, flying from Baku to Grozny on December 25, Trend reports.
"Excellency,
We are truly saddened by the news about the tragic plane crash on 25 December 2024, in which precious lives were lost and many were injured.
On behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Suriname, I extend sympathy and sincere condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families, who have lost their loved ones. It is our hope that the injured passengers will have a speedy and full recovery.
May the Almighty give you and your People the strength to endure this tragedy.
Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest esteem," the letter reads.
