"Building statehood, love for motherland starts primarily with the anxious attitude toward such symbols, as the National Flag, Emblem and Anthem," Bakiyev said.

The Head of State also noted that this year Kyrgyzstan has operated in the system of international relations and relations not as an observer and active participant. And the country managed to achieve equal partnership relations with all states, regardless of their status in world politics.

At the end of the speech, Bakiyev said that a legislative act on the Kyrgyz National Flag was adopted on March 3 in 1992, so he decreed to proclaim this date as the Day of Kyrgyz National Flag.

The event ended with a solemn parade of the Bishkek Military Garrison.

The National Flag of Kyrgyzstan is the size of 150 square meters and has been installed at the new flagpole with a 45-meter height.
